Modern Kitchen Overhaul in Queen Anne

Before & After

The Challenge
A 1992 Queen Anne craftsman home had a closed, compartmentalized kitchen that was disconnected from the main living area. The existing layout included a peninsula that blocked sightlines to the dining room, laminate countertops with visible delamination, outdated cabinets with no storage optimization, and a single 15-amp circuit serving all appliances. The homeowners — a family of four who entertain regularly — needed a kitchen that functioned for both everyday cooking and large gatherings.
Our Solution
Repair Point removed the peninsula wall (which required a structural beam installation after engineering review), completely reconfigured the kitchen layout to open toward the dining room, and installed a 12-foot white oak island with seating for five. Custom inset cabinetry with soft-close drawers maximized storage in the same footprint. A new 200-amp sub-panel dedicated to the kitchen handled the electrical requirements for a 48-inch Wolf range, Sub-Zero column refrigerator and freezer, and two Miele dishwashers. Calacatta Oro quartz countertops with a waterfall edge on the island were fabricated locally. SDCI permits were managed by Repair Point throughout.
